1.

At the International Music School of Violin/Piano, I deeply value commitment from students, families, and teacher alike. Each student’s place in the studio is thoughtfully considered and reserved for the full academic year.

When a student enrolls, I commit to guiding them through a complete year of musical growth, preparation, and performance. In return, I ask families to thoughtfully consider this year-long (or more) commitment before enrolling, as consistent participation allows students to gain the greatest benefit from their studies and contributes to a strong, supportive studio community. I am dedicated to guiding students not just in music but also in embracing their own unique paths and life experiences.

Because lesson spots are limited and determined through a careful audition process, withdrawing mid-year may mean that another qualified student was unable to receive that opportunity. Completing the academic year helps preserve continuity, fairness, and the integrity of each student’s musical journey.

2.

All students should arrive on time for their lessons-

Lessons may be also on FaceTime -Zoom- Skype if not in person.

*** I get the BEST results from students that are totally FOCUSED when there is no parental presence.

3.

Forgetfulness of lesson date and /or time is not an excused absence- fees will still apply.

4.

Video taping and other audio recordings are prohibited during lessons by students and parents.

Any Audio or Video of Ms. Anna Choi’s violin playing is only for CURRENTLY enrolled IMSVP students. It  cannot be distributed or shown in ANY form including Youtube (Internet) to non IMSVP Students and Parents including Former IMSVP students.

Any videos or audios may be submitted during the year except on Holidays.

5.

My back patio, kitchen, dining table area and staircase (not for sitting) and the second floor are off limits.

Please – NO eating or drinking coffee / sodas in my house . (However, water is fine)

6.

All payments can be by  Check payable to Anna Choi or by Cash.

7.

ALL current and new students are REQUIRED to attend or perform master classes / dress rehs / recitals Live or on video. Regardless of illness or any conflict of date with another event or any other reasons; should you choose NOT to participate the IMSVP events (in person or on video), Fees will still apply. This also includes the IMSVP Orchestra Seminar Class  – a class conducted like a mock audition for those trying out for the  TMEA ALL Region (Middle School  / High School) and  TMEA ALL State High School  Orchestra. It is all part of being in the IMSVP.

Dress rehearsals at the IMSVP are like an audition process in which students must be approved by Ms Choi for performing in any IMSVP concerts. Any students NOT approved for the concert are still required to attend and all (nonrefundable ) fees still do apply , including accompanist fees. No exceptions.

2 Master Classes / 2 Dress Reh. / 2 Concerts during the School Year.

Leaving early from any events can affect the results at the awards ceremony in the Spring unless it is excused by Ms Choi.

ALL Master Classes and Dress Rehs. are CLOSED SESSIONS- Parents and Public are not invited.

Having all these events  in person or on video performances -it will motivate students to practice more and progress to their own highest potential which leads to more “successes” in their lives.

8.

Any BORROWED music books, violins,or any kind of music supply must be returned in the same condition. If lost or damaged – the student must replace the item.

9.

Last minute cancellations – (not 24 hours) will count as lesson taken.

If one arrives late due to traffic, I will NOT be able to make the minutes up even if you may be the LAST lesson of my teaching day.

10.

Makeup lessons are available for holiday absences or with 24 hr. notice for illness. For sudden illness, please reach out to me ASAP, and I will do my best to accommodate.

11.

If a student needs to discontinue lessons, a minimum of two weeks’ notice is greatly appreciated and allows me to plan responsibly.

Students are also expected to participate in all scheduled events — including masterclasses, dress rehearsals, and recitals — up to the next scheduled recital (Fall or Spring, whichever occurs first). These events are an important part of each student’s education and provide meaningful learning experiences.

Please note that all lesson and event fees remain due through the upcoming recital, regardless of attendance, as preparation and scheduling continue behind the scenes for each enrolled student.

12.

Please do not attend lessons if the parent or student has a cough or sniffles.

13.

Any display of disrespectful behavior,  including entering competitions without my prior approval or demonstrating inadequate progress may result in  the termination of all lessons and other events at any time.

The final year of high school is a uniquely demanding and exciting time. College preparation, academic responsibilities, and personal transitions can feel overwhelming, and I recognize the pressures our senior students face.

At the same time, the senior year holds special meaning; completing the year — particularly the final recital — provides a powerful sense of closure and accomplishment. It marks the completion of years of dedication and allows students to celebrate not only how far they have come musically, but also the perseverance and maturity they have developed along the way.

Senior participation also serves as an inspiration to younger students, demonstrating the value of finishing strong and honoring long-term commitments. I encourage seniors to remain engaged through the end of the academic year, with flexibility and support as needed, so they may leave with confidence, pride, and a meaningful sense of completion. This commitment not only enriches their musical journey but also builds valuable life skills and will positively impact their adulthood and future endeavors.

I am looking forward to a great School Year and would like to encourage my students to contact me by phone or email with questions or concerns. You can  use Zoom, Facetime, WhatsApp… Also you can  audio or video tape for me of your playing as well if you have any concerns.
Thank you.

Ms. Anna  J. Choi
